WinWing Orion 2 Viper Throttle Review
A superbly accurate F-16 throttle grip with excellent switchology, let down slightly by a shorter throw and the same finicky desk clamp as its stablemates.

The Viper grip, done right
WinWing's Orion 2 Viper throttle reproduces the F-16's single-throttle quadrant with impressive fidelity. The grip contour, the dogfight/missile-override switch, and the manual pitch override all sit exactly where a Viper driver expects them.
Ergonomics & fit
This is the standout. The hand naturally falls onto every control, and the boat-switch and cursor-slew hat are genuinely comfortable during long BFM engagements. It fits a wide range of hand sizes better than the F-15EX grip.
Features & inputs
Every relevant switch is present and mapped, including the two-detent afterburner gate. There's little you'll need to bind to the keyboard.
Software & integration
SimApp Pro handles the profile cleanly, and DCS picks it up instantly. Firmware has been stable across updates.
Compatibility & mounting
Same story as the rest of the Orion 2 line — the desk clamp is serviceable but fiddly. A rig mount is strongly recommended.
Value
At $399 it undercuts the F-15EX unit and, for Viper pilots, delivers arguably better ergonomics. Strong value for a module-specific grip.
